Section 1 looks at a Health and Safety Policy. Because the employer has the primary responsibility for the health and safety of their workers at all times and at all locations, they need to demonstrate that there is a commitment to safety. One way to start this process is to develop a health and safety policy document, which clearly states health and safety objectives and a commitment to improving health and safety performance. Section 1 gives you a copy of a general Health and Safety Policy as an example. Make sure all your details are contained within the Policy and that it is signed by you, the employer. This should be provided to all workers during induction, and it should be stated that workers have received a copy in their employment agreement.
